Dear Parishioners and Friends of Holy Name of Jesus Parish,
Out of concern for all of us, Archbishop Perez has suspended all public masses until further notice. Although we are not able to gather for the celebration of Holy Mass, I want to encourage you to pray at home each day, especially for the sick and suffering. We can make a spiritual Communion like the one listed below. It will help us to lovingly embrace the Lord as if we had actually received Him.
As people of faith, we approach these stressful and uncertain times with the belief that the lord is always with us. He will not abandon us in our need.
While adhering to the “social distancing” guidelines encouraged for public health, I will open our church for private prayer each weekday from 12-1:00pm and from 5-6:00pm each evening.
Saturday & Sunday: Church will be open from 12-1:00 If it should become necessary to changes these hours, I will post signs on the church doors. I’ll be available for confession on Wednesday from 5-6:00pm and on Saturday from 12-1:00.
Our Lenten soup and Stations of the Cross will be suspended until further notice. First Penance will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Obviously, if you feel sick, prudence dictates that you seek necessary medical care. If you are told to stay home, please do so for your own good and the common good. If quarantine is mandated, please abide by government and health department guidelines.
It is my intention to pray for you and to do what I can to communicate with you via social media. Please sign up to receive our Parish Bulletin electronically by following this link: https://ebulletin.jspaluch.com
Mrs. McKnight and our School teachers and staff are committed to keeping you informed. Please check emails from the school and the School website for updates.
EWTN (Ch. 75) has a daily televised Mass at 8:00am and 12:00 pm; Sunday Masses are televised at 5:30am (Ch. 6), 6:30 am (Ch. 13), and 7:00am (Ch. 2).
Through the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, may God bless each of us!
– Fr. Bradley
An Act of Spiritual Communion
During these days when we cannot receive the Lord in Holy Communion, an act of Spiritual Communion can help. You can receive Jesus spiritually in your heart from anywhere you might happen to be, at any time, day or night. No wall can shut us out. Pray:
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
-St. Alphonsus Liguori
